Today the NS. 13T which has track rights to Allentown over the Reading & Northern Stalled on the hill out of Dupont. (Ex Lehigh Valley mountain cutoff). The R&N. came to the rescue with SD-40-2 #3055! David helps Goliath in this case.

Now Jeff, if you did that with a 25-ton GE and a big U-Boat, it would be "all in the family"--- Dave and Goli having the same last name.

RMNE's U23B (admittedly not as big or impressive as your U30C) has moved our 25-ton GE around a bit lately; the "usual suspects" were too busy to grab a camera while it was happening.

Everyone,

First, a big thank you to Les Beckman for posting my photo. I sent it to him via email because I could not figure out how to post it myself.

Second, some details on the photo.

This photo was taken in 1994 right after we had our last Railroad Expo. We were going to put the B&0 caboose back on its trucks. The caboose had been sitting on beams and cribbing for about a month. The Baldwin at this point had only 1 good traction motor. The Plymouth has no traction motors because it is chain drive with a 4 cylinder detroit engine and manual transmission. It belongs to the Bluegrass Railroad Museum and is on loan. We used it to push the Baldwin RS-12 to the caboose so we could use the air compressor and locomotive jacks to put the caboose back on it's trucks.

The caboose belongs to the Kentucky Central Chapter of the NRHS in Paris, KY.

Here is a little drawing I put together last year, for the 170th anniversary of the first steam-powered train to operate in Rochester, NY.
Tonawanda Railroad, May 11, 1837.

1837 locomotive Vs. 2007 locomotive!
operating on the same route. (became the New York Central mainline..today is CSX)
