Just a small update as it has been awhile. This is a very important month for Old 6069 as there is a meeting with council coming up in a couple of weeks to find out wether or not the city will approve funding for the asbestos removal on the Locomotive. I am currently awaiting a quote on the Asbestos removal from a company ooutside of town before the funding request is filed with Council.

I am not giving up the fight to get the project underway, just that the Asbestos has proven to be more of a headache than frst realised.

If anyone has any tips or advice that they can share please let me know.

SOmetimes the Army National Guard, or whatever you have north of the border, is trained to undertake asbestos abatement as part of their training. You might consider contacting the local base Commander and inquiring, or seeing if the officer can point you in a similar direction. The group might undertake it as a civic training project.
