It could be that Doyle has been a little preoccupied with an unprecedented cross-country trip with his girl, 4449, as well as securing 4449, 700 and the UP Pacific 197 a new home in Portland?

I agree, I can't wait to see more progress on his NKP 190. She's going to look great. Hopefully he'll be able to bring her back east to pull some varnish on the ol' NKP mains! We can only hope.

It looks like the website was just updated yesterday, 10/22/11, with new photos: NKP190.com
(I don't have any connection with this project -- I just happened to notice the update today.)

Looks like Doyle's coming down the home stretch! I wonder if he has plans to get her operational before the Brooklyn Roundhouse is demolished. The new ORHF facility for the three Portland-owned steamers will not have room for NKP 190 or any of the other diesels or support equipment, so I hope Doyle has plans for safe storage of this gem.

I wonder how PA #16's coming along down in Texas?

I'm sure the unit would be more than welcome for a long "loan" on display at the Mad River and NKP Museum in Bellevue, OH.

Is there anyone on this site actually connected with the restoration of #190?
I have questions relating to another restoration that may involve similar parts.
