Because I had a very tiring day at the railroad museum today, and because I just thought of this for some reason right now, I am going to ask this stupid question. At the start of Walt Disney features, there is a very long distance shot of an arch type bridge with what is undoubtedly a steam locomotive going across it. This is an animated feature and not a real locomotive but it definitely is steam. Does anyone know if the Disney folks used a particular locomotive as the model for this little piece of action?

Thanks. I'll go away now.

It's hard to see, but it looks like it was modeled on either the C.K. Holliday at Disneyland, or Walt's model of Central Pacific No. 173 (on which the Holliday is based).

Another animated Disney train appears in the upcoming Toy Story 3--the locomotive in that film IS based directly on the C.K. Holliday at Disneyland (with a minor modification or two).
