Special events are planned all weekend, including an expanded operation schedule and dinner train Saturday evening.

M-1, M-3 and speeders will all run to Colegate Grove over the weekend in addition to our steam passenger trains. Don't miss out on our first ever dinner train with a catered meal to be served at Colegate Grove.

I realize you posted a link to more info, but including the dates of the event in your post would be helpful.

The EBT has always had one of the latest opening dates in the season. June 5-6 this year. I'm not exactly sure why, I always figured they missed out on a month of light weekend ridership. They have a couple gas cars which could provide a train ride without huge staff overhead.

I could be wrong, but they may be considering travel by MOST tourists doesn't begin until at least Memorial Day weekend (schools not out until June), why bother for the little revenue considering the area they are in?

If anything, I think they'd be smart to run just a diesel train using the open cars/cabooses they have on the Memorial Day weekend and then open steam up in June.

That Gas car is so rare, it is a shame to say it, but non-use is better preservation considering it's parts source or lack there of.

The date is at the top of the page, June 5th and 6th.

We have always started our regular operating season with the first weekend in June.

The date is shown there, but not here... "We always start in June" is quite obvious to you, but possibly not to your potential guests. Many tourist operations open Memorial Day wekeend.

When posting press releases and the like, try to provide as much information as you reasonably can. Don't make folks dig for it, as some won't bother to make the effort.

This is a rare chance to enjoy the beauty of our Parlor car and see the scenery. Reservations are strongly recommended for any special event.

For our regular fans, we are selling a Season Pass (with restrictions) for $100 until June 5. After June 5, the price will be $125. Again, these are good for any regular scheduled train, standard coach seat. A season pass does not include any Fall Spectacular trains, photo charters, M-1 rides, or any other special train.

Tentative plans are to have one or more of our inoperable steam locomotives on display outside of the roundhouse. We may also have a different whistle on our #15 for the weekend like last years Fall Spectacular. Note, these are only possibilities and are not guaranteed.

The East Broad Top Railroad Preservation Association reserves the right to alter schedules and/or equipment as conditions warrant.
