PostPosted: Sat Jul 18, 1998 6:50 am

I have the above car. It sits on its own wheels and undercarriage on a section of track at my house. I am interested in seeing that it gets a "good home". Anyone interested? I live in MA, about 30 miles west of Boston.
A guy from Guilford RR came out to look at the car, and said wheels, brakes and bearings are like new...he was amazed at the condition. I can E-Mail pictures.
Thanks
Jerry
I am 90% sure that this is the "Lunenburg Coach".
See the following thread for the sad ending:

I think you're right, Ed. How sad. The owner of that car posted a message here in July of '98 and no one responded... wish I had seen this post back then...

There is a Jerry Dawson in Lunenberg, MA. Must be the same car.

Nobody has said much lately about the similar B&M car in Tyngsboro. Address is around 124 Lakeview Ave and its visible in google street view. In the past these people were delusional about the value of the car, but maybe they can be convinced to sell for a reasonable price in this market now.

OK, this is one of those almost uncomfortable Internet moments.

Using search and the info in the original post, I not only located a house in Lunenburg with the same owner name as the poster, but Google street view clearly shows a wooden passenger car in his side yard.

The car in the street view is wearing a blue tarp similar to the car in the 2008 scrapping photos, and the foliage around it seems to be the same in both images.

It would seem it was the same car. Too bad, but it did last 10 years after the first post.

Ummmmmmmmmmm.......

Did you happen to notice that the original post that had an e-mail address supplied was made TWELVE YEARS AGO?????

Do *you* still have the same e-mail address you had twelve years ago? AOL is especially susceptible to being abandoned--of all the people in my e-mail address book (hundreds across multiple subjects and disciplines), I'm down to only one that I can think of that still has an AOL address, and that individual is too computer-illiterate to figure out how to change over to a new e-mail system..........

I've had the same email address for a decade. It's a benefit of owning your domain name - as long as you renew the domain, it's yours for the long term.

The person in question here can be found by a simple search, including a phone number, if anyone really wants to find him.
