Now that the locomotive has settled into its new home, we have resumed working on her. We moved the tender back a few feet, and painted the cab numerals.

Now since it’s over in a spot where more people can see her as well as drive by, do you get more people wanting to help out and/or make donations?

Aaron, not to my knowledge. We have gotten what I believe to be the locomotive's first graffiti attack (reported several weeks ago), someone made a mess in our porta-potty, and to my knowledge thats about it. Pretty much everything so far (that wasn't contracted out, i.e. asbestos removal, sandblasting, painting) has been done by 3 guys. I help out whenever I can.

Must be the same three guys that do all of the work at our place! Since we are on a rails-to-trails right of way, we talk to a lot of people and many say they would like to help and we get names and numbers and some even fill out the membership form but never show up after being contacted. I keep at it in the hope that we will someday get more than the same three, and sometimes, four guys coming out. But what you are doing is looking very nice. Keep up the good work.

Later!
Mr. Ed
