I'm looking forward to a great Leviathan pretending to pull the Nebraska Zephyr photo op!

What? Thomas never double-heads?

I hear Thomas likes to couple up with Emily, but that's just rumor.

I found that at the East Broad Top, the kids who came for Thomas were fascinated by EBT #15, which could be seen (and heard, and felt) from the cars of the Thomas train. #15 was in her common carrier all-black paint, and the question "How can we ride the black train?" was asked quite often.

I'm seeing no coupler at all, an air pump on the fireman's side, and lots of people in the tender!

Whole new meaning to the phrase 'stacked up like cordwood!' which works when you're burning oil.

Why the limited tonnage? I'm guessing it's related to the construction of the frame?

Was this anticipated during construction? This engine looks to be incredibly well made, so I'm surprised there would be such a light limit on weight. Or is that amount reasonable for an engine of this type and size?

Air compressor capacity may be the reason for limited trailing tonnage--or a function of independent braking efficiency. FRA may have the engine on a tight leash until all systems are proven in operation, then possibly a higher tonnage rating may be approved.

What is the light weight of the Leviathan anyway?.

As a matter of fact, air compressor issues (a problem with the valves; expected to be resolved soon) did preclude pulling a train yesterday but she did run light. And I mean really run:

Here is a photo of the L&P to MCB coupler adapter (with L&P compatible knuckle).

Here is a pic of Leviathan pulling a coach train at IRM. They may be newer steel cars, but it still looks pretty good. More to come on the IRM website...

Can't find the 'stand on feet and applauds wildly, cheering' emoticon.

This will have to do:
