John was always helpful. I enjoyed conversing with him via the computer on the few times I had a chance to talk about a rail preservation subject. This is certainly a very sad turn of events. My condolences to the family and his friends.

John was a great guy. We worked on a number of traction projects together in the Chicago area. He will be missed, for sure.
