Haven't seen anyone mention the stats on this locomotive. It appears to be Washington, Idaho & Montana Railway Ten-Wheeler number 1 and was built for the line by Alco in 1906. Nice looking lokey with a rather interesting "front end". Good luck with the cosmetic restoration.

Yes, Les, that is the locomotive at hand.

One more idea I just came up with. There's going to be a flea market/ art walk in town on March 2nd. That's on a Saturday and I think I my schedule will be open for that day. Perhaps, after running it by the mayor of course, it would be a good idea to be out working on the locomotive that particular day? Maybe have a donation can sitting somewhere nearby? If I've got the bell frame tack welded down by then, maybe I attach the rope to bell and oil her up for the kids visiting the park?

By the way, the mayor liked the idea of hooking up the whistle to compressed air and maybe even putting a smoke generator in the stack for special occasions. I think that visitors might get interested and come on over to take a look at displayed locomotive that suddenly has a working headlight, bell, whistle, and appears to be under steam. :)
