H K Porter 0-4-0T and bobber caboose available

Doesn't the Age of Steam Roundhouse already have an 0-4-0T, which at one time was operational?

Thanks. Since the Age of Steam Roundhouse already has an 0-4-0T, I wonder if the more important item in this acquisition might have been the bobber caboose. I don't know if AofS has another such caboose, but if not, the 4-wheel bobber might have been a way to fill a "hole" in JJJ's collection. I don't think that there are a lot of these cabooses out there that might be available. Just thinking out loud here, and if the Roundhouse already does have a bobber, then......never mind!

Personally, I would have preferred if the Carnegie Science Center or the Heinz History Center got them, but you're right, the engine and caboose are in good hands now.

Carnegie or Heinz??? What rail/steel related exhibits have you seen at either of those facilities lately? Neither place would appreciate this equipment.

AOSR does indeed have a bobber caboose already. However, it is a beautifully built reproduction. It was built by a John Uher, a former Ohio Central Steam Department staff member for his small mine spur Coshocton, Otsego & Eastern Railroad. It was built from only a picture on a postcard! After John passed several years ago, Jerry purchased his whole collection, including the caboose and John's 25 ton diesel locomotive. This engine now serves as AOSR's yard goat. The wonderfully appointed bobber now lives inside the roundhouse. You can see the caboose in the attached photo from AOSR's web page.
