About an hour southeast of Calgary. Tied to a mini-resort with simulated station and caboose cabin, real 1887 CP car for dining, one real caboose, campground, gift store, and other attractions. Still pretty much "middle of nowhere," but a lot of Alberta fits that description.

Anyone recognize the rolling stock?

A 2012 tour of the line, with lots of photos:

They've been around for years -- and were on "Dragon's Den" the Canadian Version of "Shark Tank" a couple of years ago.

The operation has just been a camp ground with a stationary dining car and they've been trying to expand into a tourist railroad for some time.

The 2 coaches are ex-CP, built in 1947 as shells by either CC&F or NSC and completed by CP. The Daylight-painted baggage is a mystery.

The two coaches are ex Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern PLUM CREEK, ex Algoma Central 419, ex Canadian Pacific 2119, and ex DM&E SILVER CREEK, ex AC 418, ex CP 2213.

The baggage car in Daylight colors is former UP 5811, (Daylight Locomotive and Machine) DLMX 5811 "Yes Dear", CP 105. CP had acquired the car for use as a possible tool/support car for use with the 2816. The car was recently offered for bids/sale and sold to the group at Aspen Crossing.

Thanks, Greg and Roy, for the info! I wondered what had happened to #5811!
