2100's booster engine was in New Hope around 10 years ago. Not sure if it's still there. I guess it belongs to Ross?

From a post about RDG 2100 booster:

Quote:
Fortunatley I was able to save the booster from 2100 from being scrapped when CSX decided to demolish the Roundhouse in Hagerstown, Md. I have offerred it to the GPRR folks but have not yet had a response. I fully agree that it does make a tremendous difference in the engines capabilities at slow speeds(under 15mph) and from my experience with the sister 2101 nearly doubles the engines ability to keep 'em moving in really tough pull situations.

To reinstall will mean sliding out the trailing truck, remounting the booster engine(some weldments, some bolted brackets) and of course reconnecting the steam delivery pipes(we also saved them along with the huge ball swivel joints) and the air and sand delivery pipes. Before reinstallation the booster will need to be internally cleaned, lubed and examined. To the best of my knowledge it was in good working order when removed from the engine, but that's a good while ago.
It weighs about 2.5 tons and can be easily trucked out there. Sure hope they decide to reinstall her on 2100 as they'll be very glad they did on that 3.5% monster hill. Rather have the booster than a dismal anyday !!!!

Hi,

It is probably just me, but where is the bulk of 2100 now located?

2101 (AFT 1) is at the B&O museum.

where is 2102?

And 2134(? - the fourth T1) where is she?

Thanks.

T'1s the season of steam miracles. Good luck and best wishes to this group. I think you got a great locomotive. Keeping all four remaining Reading T1's intact is true testimony to positive assertiveness.

Wouldn't A#1 have written that on the tender (water tank)?

The chalk must have had a hard time sticking to the Ferroequss lettering...

In the video, I notced a line through that name on the tender. Brought a smile to my face to see that!

Seems this group has a very strong sense of humor! Anyone spot the "OH YEAH!" on the tender?

I'm going way out on a limb, but I think NKP765 may tow 2100 to Cleveland. After being asked about break-in runs, there was a tweet from FWRHS stating "this train may be arriving early." I'm not sure of the "this train" referenced in that tweet, but the steam stars have been in alignment recently and amazing things are happening in the world of steam preservation.

LOL, but I think that tweet meant that the NS announcement was coming a week earlier than expected (which was Apr. 22).

Seriously doubt that. The Cleveland roundhouse it's going to on W. 3rd St. is on CSX (former B&O facility), and the only direct way to get there from the West anymore is from the B&O main to the CL&W sub at Sterling, OH. So, a CSX routing from Chicago East, and the only way that locomotive is moving over CSX is on a flat car pulled by dismals.
