There is a rumor being floated (and it started with Jim Wrinn at Trains.com, who should be in a position to know) that one of these locos will serve as a diesel helper on one or more of the NS 611 trips, probably the one to Asheville over the "Loops." (If I got the specifics wrong, don't shoot me. Wrinnbo kind of insinuated with big hints, but wasn't specific, and I didn't take notes.)

Yeah Wrinn said that if the museum can get them ready they will try to use both Southern FP7 6133 and E8 6900 on the trip from Spencer to Asheville through the Southern Loops.

The E8 as I understand it had some dynamic brake issues, so the FP7 and the 8099 heritage unit will be used.
