The rotary hammer in our Nordberg woodpecker needs replacement, among other parts which Nordco itself no longer carries for a machine this old. Possibly we could weld the hammer to fix it, but there's other smaller parts needed, listed below. Any suggestions for part sources?

Lockwasher, Spring 1/2" PN # 3065 917

The hammer is likely a forging, is it broken? As in what was one piece is now several pieces ? If so welding it may not make it as strong as originally, but it may work for a few years.

If it is broken as in the surfaces are worn out it could be repaired by "hardfacing" (special arc welding rods) and grinding back to shape.

As for pins/lockwashers etc, McMaster Carr has about the biggest selection of "off the shelf" hardware items anywhere. If they don't have something that will work then these are probably custom parts. Most manufacturers do not make their own lockwashers or standard pins.

Thanks. I've forwarded the info to the person doing the work. I haven't seen the condition of the hammer myself since he took the head apart.
