Post subject: The old Beebe River story...
PostPosted: Sat Apr 19, 2003 9:00 pm

Scot,

There persists among those who insist that the Beebe River had running rights on the B&M's Pemi, in a similar fashion other New England loggers.

Should those who persist to insist, cease and desist from saying this?

Not sure what Mr. Gove has turned up on it, and for all the times I have spent in cab with Leon, I never thought to ask him about it!

Keep the 405 shinin',

Rob

Post subject: EB&L and the B&M

A late friend of mine that worked at the mill in Lincoln told me that they would have to occasionally send an EB&L Shay or Baldwin down from the yard to help a train up from Thronton to the mill due to the final grades and curves - especaill the last curve along Main St.

Leon would know about the Beebe River on the B&M operation, or would be able to find out. I'll be calling him soon and can find out if the grey matter is functional... Eddy Parent, who used to run the Climax on the Beebe River RR, has a daughter that used to work (or still) at Clark's in the Maple Sugar Cabin during the season.
