Ran across these photos on Yahoo Groups Richmond Rails site. Can't remember now.. Did they cut the drawbar to move this engine?

I think I posted this before, but while you're in the Richmond site, take another look at the tunnel with the 4-4-0 in it.

Remarkable, every thing I saw down during the move seemed pretty professional. just like some one had taken the time to study it ahead of time. The draw bar wasn't cut, the drivers appeared to be nicely supported (at least before the time of the move) and plenty of time and for though seemed to go in to the move. Now, any body interested in saving the business car? Last i heard, free to a good home and i am assuming the offers still open if it hasn't been scraped yet.

Is this a Chesapeake & Ohio business car? What kind of shape is it in?

The car in question is RF&P business car 100, built in 1911 by Pullman. My memory says it was in moderately decrepit condition, with motivation to preserve it dampened by the 1998 preservation of more modern and complete RF&P business car "One" at the nearby Science Museum of Va. at Broad Street Station.

However, a Google search for information on this car reveals the possibility that this car is NOT available. See the information under "Recreation & Parks" at the website link below:

Well it's not exactly what you'd call a jem that's for sure. i guess all in all it's not too bad. But it's a wood sheathed car with the roofing slowly pealing off of it. I've never actually seen inside but from what you can see the ground it doesn't appear to have a high quality interior left. Oddly enough it's a wood car with roller bearings......

Anyway I going to saw that the car is still open to a good home, as it was still siting in the same place back in September. I "think" the two cars in the park out side of richmond (actually right along side the I-295, you can see them in the winter time) were the two that were listed on DF barnhart for several years, they sat on an industrial siding off of Acca Yard. As of last may the Science Museum was adimently NOT intersted in the Car for some reason that I won't guess at. To bad there doesn't seem to be any one in VA intersted in another car.....
