>Jusin,

We are working with a number of groups for Train Festival 2004. As of this date, we can not offer any specific information regarding which engines may or may not be able to come. Events like this one require a lot of planning and some considerable $$$$$$$. I can tell you that negotiations with groups are going well and that we look forward to new found freinds and relationships as a result of our efforts.

Hello All

Looking forward to meeting many of my RYPN friends in Ohio. No matter which engines make it, or don't for that matter, its going to be a great time, and I know I'll come away smiling even if its "just" the Ohio Central roster that I get to see and ride. The 765 (crossing fingers), 1225 (not holding my breath) will just sweeten the deal.

I also think the Trainfest folks should be commended for two things:

1. Dissemination of information: There has been more info flowing out of Ohio than I've ever seen for any similar event. Sure things are tentative, but John, Jason et all have been great at letting us know how things are progressing, rather than the "Come and See" philosophy for events at Steamtown for example.

2. Extra Activities. This is going to be an event the general public can enjoy as well, without just the "pure" railfan events. I for one am looking forward to listening to a band play outside on a warm summer night.

Keep it up, you're doing great...

Just one question remains, is there a White Castle in the area?

Dave, you are in such luck! There will actually be a "White Castle" on site at Trainfestival!

The Ohio Central's cafeteria car in which we volunteers have the privelage of sleeping in and dining in when we're there is coincidentally enough named . . . . "White Castle"!!

So yes, there will be a White Castle close. However if you're looking an actual White Castle Restaurant you'll have to ask Jason as he lives there and would know if there is one in the Dover/New Philly area.

>Your comments are very kind! It is true, there will be plenty to see and do at the event, regardless of what "other" engines may be there. Keep in mind that we will have the 6325 and our Pacific the 1293 up and steaming and even running trips. This event is one that the entire family will enjoy.

It is nice to see that many of you out there understand that regardless of who may or may not come, it will be a very good event!

Jason (who is on vacation) and the rest of the group at the Dennison Depot are doing a wonderful job planning and advertising the event.

There are White Castle's in Zanesville and Newark for sure, also Akron. So the unfortunate answer is any of them are over an hour away. But a true Slider Pilot will make the trip!

If you're ever down south, you won't find White Castles but you will find Krystal's. Anyone looking for a slider or gut bomb will hunt the nearest location down. I assume that White Castle is a major operator in their market regions. Krystal is large enough in the south that its flight department actually ran the executive aircraft terminal at Chattanooga, Tennessee's airport for many years.

Hello

Good to hear, now my Trainfest experience will be complete. Beats running to Newark or Dunellon for sliders... Of course it will be nice to see the "real" White Castle car, since I've heard of its existance for a while.

" SLIDERS " Brings back memories When I used to be around the Windy city 25 years ago we called them "Windy City Sliders" always amazed me the pickles on the side. WOOLY

I've lived in Chicago for over 60 years, and have eaten sliders by the ton (literally). But, I never have seen pickles served on the side. They are always under the bun along with the steam-grilled onions and the little hamburger patties with the holes in them.

I know that they will take the pickles off if you ask, but what's the point?

Peace,

Jack
