UP618 operating and scheduled to pull the nearly-sold out (11,500 of 13,000 available seats) "Polar Express" trains starting this Tuesday evening.

GW75 undergoing 15 year rebuild as time and the ever-elusive funding permits.

What about the forgotten few the 2472 and the 2467? Are they currently
operable?

It is my understanding that Texas & Pacific 2-10-4 #610 needs running gear work and Form 4 at a minimum before it can run again. The likelyhood of that happening is slim, as it is just too big to be effectively ran at it's current home, the Texas State Railroad Palistine enginehouse.

She is pushed out from time to time for visitors to explore; the rest of the time she is stored under cover in excellent display condition. A far better state than some other big engines dismantled in abortive restoration attempts.

Both 2467 and 2472 require Part 230 work.

According to the recent PLA newsletter, the 2467 may be deadheaded to Sacramento in the near future.
