I have a pair of table lamp bases that I believe were made from steam locomotive water injectors. Years ago, my father told me that these lamp bases were made as a gift for my grandfather by the men he supervised at the L&N Railroad. He worked for the L&N from around 1920 to 1960 as a mechanic then later in some managerial positions.

I know very little about steam locomotives, but I have attempted to verify that these are indeed water injectors. However, searching the Internet for information has produced only a few pictures and diagrams of water injectors and they only vaguely resemble the items I have.

Are these lamp bases really made from water injectors? I would greatly appreciate any of your opinions and comments. They are 15 inches tall.
