Description
The Henry Ford seeks an experienced Steam Locomotive Mechanic/Restorer to assist with maintenance and restoration of the museum's operational steam locomotives. Must have basic knowledge of machine tool processes, materials, and metal-forming techniques 1880’s to modern; knowledge of rolling stock inspection, maintenance and repair; knowledge of air brake operation, inspection and repair; and boiler construction with a general knowledge of boiler operation and safety. Must be able to fabricate parts using photographs or broken pieces as examples. Salary: $35,000-$45,000 commensurate with experience. Vacation, health and life insurance, and paid sick days.
