I was watching CNN a few moments ago, and they said that the Valley RR's Steam train had collided with a trash truck at a grade crossing. The truck was on its side, the driver hurt, but no one on the train was injured.

Greetings:
The guys are finishing up on repairs to No. 97 (broken brake pipe & angle cock, bent (flattened) grab iron and cut lever, broken cut lever bracket) and it will be back at work tomorrow. Wayne wants to put the copupler knuckle covered with garbage truck blue paint in the "shrine" but it is too heavy, not to mention its' a good knuckle with a lot of life left in it so we'll put a photo of it in the "shrine"instead.

Wilmington & Western had a similar accident, though with the SW1 while pulling a school train several years ago. Hit a dump truck at the Lancaster Pike/Rt. 48 Crossing and put it in the ditch on its side, stone and all, minor bend to the pilot on the SW1 which you can still see today was all the damage to the Equipment.

When are people going to learn that just becuase it's a cutesie, whootsie tourist train, that it still packs the tonnage of any other "Real" train out there?....hmm...a 100 ton steamer, several (4?)70 ton passenger cars for a total of almost 400 tons going at 15 miles.... hour verses a 25 ton dump truck?
