I make no such apology. Music is made by people using mechanical devices specifically for that purpose, granted. But the musical sounds made by mechanical devices can tell the operator if they are functioning correctly, or not. It doesn't have to be a jazzy sounding locomotive --- when I was an apprentice machinist, the boss man could tell if I had my machine set up and adjusted right just by listening to me.
