Via the Steam Railroading Message Board, via SteamTech comes the link below.

It discusses the idea, and it's only an idea, of building a new turbine steam locomotive to break the existing steam world speed record held by the British Pacific (4-6-2) locomotive Mallard.

This is strictly a British proposal, although they discuss world wide funding of the effort. But, it seems serious, and even as an idea it makes interesting reading as they delve into the history of turbine powered steam locos, including the PRR 6-8-6 S2 Class, and the original Turbomotive, an LMS 4-6-2.
