Having worked with 610 for about ten years, as I recall she was possibly designated as a Class A locomotive. I've met a few former Army railroaders who recalled the steam locomotives at Ft. Eustis. All of the ones I recall remembered the 610 specifically and were not fond of her.

Out of curiosity, did they say what was different about the 610?
