I unfortunately don't have a current photo that's very rail-related; this was the best I could do:

Image

This was taken about 20 miles north of Robbinsville, NC, the former home of the Graham County Railroad, so hopefully that counts.

Here's me age 5 in December? 1976 with American Freedom Train #1 (Ex Reading T1 #2101) in Albany, NY.
Then me and AMFT #1 in a heavy downpour July 2012 in Baltimore, MD 36 years later!

At the small size of the photo, I'd have almost guessed that was Jack Anderson.
Is that the day we unveiled the #17 for the first time? I'm guessing it was.
.[/quote]

That was the day....and the day 17 went lame pulling the passengere train on to the trestle for the photographers. Harold managed to see the pin in the ballast when we walked the train back. I tied it in again using a bolt from the cut lever bracket and a bent wire......she ran home fine and we stuck a castle nut and key on that night. A prominent railway journalist was there to watch our embarrassment.

The first time I met Jack I thought I was looking in a mirror. I miss the ugly bastard......he's one of the only guys I know who could do more with less than I could. RIP my friend.

With all the talk of MRSR I figured somebody might wonder what I look like.
Hammond 17 is nearing completion again after 1/3rd of a firebox, 1472, spring
rigging rebuild, driver turning, etc. But to go with my ugly mug today is my
engine, Santa Cruz Portland Cement 2. I never met Jack, but always heard lots of stories. In many ways when I took the job I had big shoes to fill. I hope Jack would be pleased to see six
engines in steam this year at his old railroad...

Best,

Stathi

I gotta get me a modern, digital camera. . .

One of the things that stands out for me in all these photos is the pride the posters have in what they do. This is one of the things that stood out in the old engine-and-crew photos of the past, and adds to the photos the posters have from today. Glad to see it. . .yes, indeed.

Looks as if I owe fellow Pennsylvanian Jeff Lisowski a note of thanks. In attempting to post my photo, I somehow messed up. Jeff saw the problem and was able to correct it before I even realized I had a problem. Thanks, Jeff!

Here's one of me when we unloaded the 1926 Tidewater tank car in 2006.

Ok, I'm in. I grabbed this shot thinking it was a fairly recent photo of me, but then realized I'm in the right hand seat of our three-truck Heisler #91, so it's a few years old. Just add a little more gray to the beard.

Here’s two: First is a view showing me running the business end of Pennsylvania Trolley Museum’s crane car Pittsburgh Railways M283 (Differential Car Co., 1929) This was back a few years ago when I still sported a mustache and muttonchop sideburns. When I first grew them, they were dark brown and made me look distinguished. When they turned gray they made me look old……

Second is a more recent and clean-shaven shot showing me engaged in my other passion – liturgical choral singing.

From nearly eight years ago, but you'll get the idea. Taken by a co-worker on a train beside me at the former Sheppard Jct., Anacostia, DC, August, '05.

In the spring of 2012 both of our engines that operate were at the museum in Spencer, NC. Barney and I were there one of the weekends doing some maintenance work on both engines.
