I recently heard this engine was shipped here for donation. Anyone have any more info?

If so, I imagine this is now only the second, 2nd generation EMD switcher preserved, the other being the WP one at Portola.

Any word on if it'll keep it's NASA paint? I sure hope it will...

I wonder how much motive power they have at KSC these days, as the Orion test launch next year is slowly getting things moving at the center these days. It won't be the hussle and bustle of the shuttle era for a very long time, though.

Nothing says "America" like Red, White, and Black? What? Wait, Red, Gray and Black?

NASA basically used the same livery as the Bangor & Aroostook.

Just found video of this unit on the move to Miami:

Also, this isn't the only NASA unit down there: http://gcrm.org/index.php/exhibits/locomotives/nasa-s-2-1 Does anyone know if this S2 still carries the NASA markings?

S-1 #1 is currently undergoing body repair and will retain its NASA livery. #2 will also remain in NASA colors. Both locomotives are operational.
