Hello there. So, this is a question regarding the “Day Out With Thomas” Events. According to the Sodor Island Fansite and Thomas the Tank Engine Wiki, there is said to be a 2nd Steam-Powered Thomas alongside BEDT 15, with this one being oil-fired. However, I have not heard anything else about a second, oil-fired Thomas alongside BEDT 15 in existence. So here's my question: Does a second, oil-fired, steam powered Thomas exist? If so, what was the locomotive’s previous identity (And it's history)?

Negative. Only one "real" coal-fired Thomas, no oil-burner.

What about the Thomas at Edaville railroad aka Thomas land?

Strasburg has a Percy replica that could be oilfired, I’ve never seen it around though.

BEDT #15 was oil fired prior to becoming Thomas, perhaps that is what they were talking about.

Perhaps he is oil-fired in Japan where Thomas' secret identity is a JNR class C11

Percy isn't powered at all. It's a dummy just like all the other Thomas'.

Can't think of any oil fired steam locos in the UK at the moment, off the top of my head.
The Ffestiniog NG line converted their few oil fired locos back to coal several years ago.

Oil firing here has tended to come in limited short bursts of activity, the last attempt being immediately post WW2, and that didn't last very long either.

Negative. Oigawa Railway's No. C11227 is and has always been coal-fired. JNR has only ever had one fully oil-fired steam locomotive (4-6-2 No. C59124), and that was short-lived.

Perhaps, but the Sodor Island Fansite SPECIFICALLY mentioned that an oil-fired engine joined BEDT 15 as Thomas. Speaking of which, would any of you care to see a steam-powered Percy or James to go alongside Thomas? Man, that would be EPIC!

In case you hadn't seen a picture of it, here in the UK, a second world war era 0-6-0ST was rebuilt into an 0-6-0 tender loco a few years back to have a similar appearance to "Douglas" from the Awdry books.

Yes, but now appears to be based at the East Lancs Railway in Bury (near Manchester). The GCR(N) was using it as hired-in steam power for last years season, but it failed with leaking tubes in mid-December and returned to the ELR a bit earlier than planned.
