Going through my photos for an illustrated article on rail lines in Philadelphia that I'm putting together, I found this "grab shot" through the Subway train window at Fern Rock Transportation Centre that I took back in 2010....

Appears to be (presumably) 3 Broad Street line cars and one of the Philly-Camden "Bridge Cars" all lined up and looking fairly complete.
Does anyone know if they are still there and if so, are SEPTA ever likely to do anything with them?

Last time I rode by (a couple weeks ago) they were still there.

The situation seems to be that at least 3 of the cars are owned by the City of Philadelphia, who also owns the yard where they are located. S.E.P.T.A. has found it difficult to scrap something that they don't own, or to evict them from property they don't own.

As mentioned by others, yes and no respectively. SEPTA has tried a couple of times to scrap them but the city has stepped in and stopped them. The cars at Fern Rock include North Broad cars 1 and 51, two of four existing cars of that type; South Broad car 166, the only car of its type preserved; and 1025, one of a handful of preserved Bridge Cars. Supposedly that boxcar at the end of the string has spare parts in it.

Many thanks for the info.
I'd come across preserved ones at various museums over the years (from IRM to Seashore) and looking at the PNAERC website, it looks like I've seen all of the ones that still exist now !
