Learned today of the death of Francis Parker. Francis was an author and the editor of Whitewater Valley's newsletter "Towpath Tracks". His slim volume "Indiana Railroad Depots: A Threatened Heritage" published back in 1989, is a favorite reference of mine. Along with Richard S. Simons, he wrote "Railroads of Indiana", a classic on the Hoosier states railroad history. He was involved in helping with the training of Whitewater's class of Conductors, including earlier this year. Francis always had time to talk about railroading. Others will surely pass on more details. He will be sorely missed.
