Don't recall seeing this neat restoration mentioned here on RyPN:

Seeing ANY Erie equipment restored is always wonderful. An Erie X29 box car is especially gratifying. The railroad doing the work is the Allentown & Auburn. I believe they also have an unrestored 40' steel CNJ box car on their roster.

That is quite an excellent restoration. It is not a true Erie boxcar however, rather a former PRR X29, specifically the one that was displayed for many years, in primer, out in the display yard at Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

The CNJ car is a true veteran of the Big Little Railroad, the one that formerly called Jim Thorpe home during the days of Rail Tours Inc. operation.

NH8218 -

Thanks for the clarification. I've amended the subject of this thread to include the fact that this is a replication of an Erie boxcar. Incidentally, the original Pennsylvania Railroad number for the X29 car was PRR 38482.
