An update: Let me give you a recent example of how absurd this is. Frank and I are working on interurban cars at IRM, and we've received significant help from both the Steam and Diesel departments. The steam guys used their big press (and plenty of heat) to straighten out a bent coupler drawbar for us, and the Diesel department had an extra twelve feet of track space in their nice new heated shop facility, so they're letting us put a motor truck in there so it can be repainted over the winter. Thanks to Tom Stoneberg, Tom Schneider, Dave Dote, and the rest of those departments. They're all good guys, despite what some coprophagous prevaricator might say.
