I finally had the time to go hunt down something that had been bugging me for a while.

Given the common presence of former C&NW Gallery cars as both preservation targets (by upper Midwest museums/operations like IRM and NRM Green Bay) and their increased presence as everything from "Santa Train" seats to high-level scenery cars in other applications, it's long been time to start figuring out who has what, in what condition.

We shall start with this online Google spreadsheet, compiled by "Eric95":

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 1082022301

Note that this spreadsheet is in three sections: a master list, a VRE renumbering list, and a "Returned Cars" list of cars eventually sent back to Chicagoland.

In addition, this forum has a list of cars all apparently once held by Dan Behr/Midwest Transit & Development Corporation (MTDX), which brokered off several cars to both commuter operators and tourist operations, including Iowa Pacific Holdings.

(As it turns out, I'm cited twice in this thread from RyPN posts.)

Is anyone in a position to update this list, correct it, or add to it?

Foxville and Northern is now Atlantic Railways, this roster shows the seven ex-CNW bilevels as now ex-VRE, stored at NCTM http://railroadfan.com/wiki/index.php/Atlantic_Railways. If you look at their facebook page, they apparently have leased them for the 611 trip last fall, and also to the then-new operator of the former Midland Railway in Kansas (Baldwin City & Southern Railroad) two years or so ago (I believe the misnamed new "Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific" short line is now the operator there). https://www.facebook.com/atlrwys Atlantic Railways also owns 7 former Budd SPVs, now trailers, a photo on the above facebook page shows them in Georgia for some reason.
