Over on the narrow gauge forum it's been reported that the White Pas & Yukon will be operating scheduled steam excursions for the 2024 season! Doesn't look like exact dates have been announced yet but this is great news.

I've taken an Alaska cruise / Alask Railroad / VIA Rail trip the last couple of summers so I'm extra excited for this years trip. I'll be sure to schedule my cruise when steam is running.

Here's the schedule - https://wpyr.com/excursions/product/steam-excursion/

It's a little pricey - $399 for the train one-way and bus back but I'm so excited that Steam has returned to this line. I've ridden a few times behind diesel and really hope I can plan a trip this year to experience this.

So does the morning run take the train first then the bus back and the afternoon run you take the bus there and train back?

Correct - obviously the morning trip is the one to take to hear the locomotive work.

I certainly hope not! But I can't say for certain.
