Hi folks,

I did read every post here; I just didn't feel like any further input from me was required. I did find enough of substance here to help me make my decision-and feel comfortable with it.

Thanks to all of you who shared your thoughts here. I do appreciate it!

if you want your collection to be appreciated; look for a place that has an Archives Building or wing. Or else you collection will end up in a drafty old box car. The Western Railway Museum has started building an extension on their Archives Wing because the building is full after 24 years. The Illinois Railway museum has a large Multi-Purpose Building to house the Pullman Collection because the old building was off campus and too small.

The WW&F Railway Museum is planning to build an Archives Building because they lack space in their current building.

Also any organization that has been around very long should have an Endowment. This is necessary because the ticket sales can never cover all the costs or projects that an organization wants to carry out.
