I am selling my MLW M-420-TR locomotive. The unit was built in 1972 as MLW demo #27 and sold to Alcan and again to R&S. The unit has great wheels with 752 motors, Good 581 main, 251E that needs work, 26L brakes. The block was torn down for repairs and the some of the heads and all the liners are shot or missing, Most all of the the pistons are there including one brand new one with a new conrod, all conrods and bearings are there. No FRA glazing or event recorder. With a little work and some time this would be a great in plant switcher or nice for a short line railroad. I am only selling because I don't have the time or space for it anymore. The unit is located on the MHWA in Rome, NY. Asking $42K or best offer. I will consider trades but any trade would have to be something that could be used on the Adirondack railroad or small and easy to move. PM me with any questions or to get a good look at the engine.
