Both of these cars are currently owned by Operation Toy Train and stored in Hawley, Pennsylvania on the Delaware, Lackawaxen & Stourbridge Railroad (the "Stourbridge Line"). They are both surplus to our needs, and were acquired as part of an "all or nothing" package with several other pieces of equipment last year. We understand that the GTW car is particularly rare, and we'd love to see it go to a good home for preservation (even though it's in reeeeeally rough shape). We have a bit of money tied up in these two cars to make emergency repairs to get them to hold air so we could save them from the torch last fall, so we're looking to sell them at this point to recoup some of that expense. (We had just three weeks from when we acquired the cars until the entire rail line they were sitting on being torn up.) Make us any reasonable offer on one or both and it's yours - first come, first serve.

These cars are both on live rail at the DL&S and can interchange out to the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway at Lackawaxen, PA. The NYS&W interchanges to both Norfolk Southern and CSX. Both cars are roller bearing equipped. They were last moved in October of 2020 about 125 miles by rail, so they do roll and perform fine in train service, but the COT&S on both cars is out of date. Cars are sold as is, where is, but the DL&S has expressed that their passenger car shop in nearby Honesdale, Pennsylvania is available for hire to perform any necessary work required to ready the cars for interchange for the new owners. NYS&W will move them if they comply with applicable regulations.

If there is no interest in these cars, they will likely be parted out and scrapped. There has already been some interest in parts from these cars for other preservation projects, including some of our own, but we'd prefer to keep them in one piece at a new home if possible.

P.S. We are currently looking for some passenger car parts (a particular diaphragm/buffer plate assembly and a friction bearing passenger car wheelset). From a comment: "The interior of the car was gutted out and converted, so none of the original layout remains. Our plan is to repair the car and convert it into a lounge/venue car. We will be installing a square grand piano inside that will be used for the Christmas train rides and other musical performances or events. More than likely the car will be painted into either the MoPac or MKT schemes to reflect the local railroad heritage. We will of course, have a plaque inside the car giving its heritage and original layout design."
