Do any of these still have a roundhouse and turntable? If not, the complex is not complete. If they are, I'd like to see more of them. Also, are there enough extant locomotives to make them a credible representation of their former glory?

Then SAY "Class One Locomotive Shops, complete with roundhouse and turntable"......... Not "Class one shops".......

Lessee........... Steamtown in Scranton........ Altoona does have a turntable, and a big one at that, and a roundhouse replica is under development at the nearby museum....... Wilmington still has the ruins of a roundhouse adjacent to the Amtrak electric shops, and a transfer table........ B&O Museum in Baltimore has the roundhouse, turntable, and car shops, but not the erecting halls (but much of that was consumed by fires and/or demolished before the Museum had a say).........

Hey, shall we count the new Reading & Northern shop facilities at Port Clinton, Pa.? <:-)

The Roanoke shops. I was in Roanoke recently and heard their steam shop whistle go off. Quite a nice three-bell chime. Does anyone know why they still have a big boilerhouse running? Anyone know where there are recent Roanoke shop photos on the web?
