93-5607 Yellow is still looking good for the Erie. This is just a straight-up comparison with the chip page photo...

With the chip matches on Reading equipment, I'm getting hits on 93-530 Chevrolet Cream Medium as well so this ain't over yet. LOL I didn't initially believe I'd be going this pale with the yellows but since I am now, more research is required. 5925, 530, and 242 were all carried over into the Centauri and Imron lines. Here they are with their slightly more modern equivalents and associated code numbers...

If this works out okay, perhaps I can place 93-530 with the Reading and 93-5925 with the Pennsylvania. Basically, 530 looks just like a slightly-darker-tinted 5925 and here it is on an early-model 1955 Chevy Truck restoration...

The WE5544 card from the fan deck actually matches 93-5925 better than 93-530 so I would have to say it's just a minor tinting difference between those two colors...

Here is the WE5839 card with the DuPont, Ditzler/PPG, and Martin-Senour versions of Venetian Yellow. The older chips appear just a hair more yellow. The fan deck binder matches GMC Permanent Red, my suspected DL&W and EL maroon as well as the exterior color of that there mystery vehicle...

Can't get enough of Venetian Yellow? Shortly after the demise of the Reading, General Motors apparently reintroduced the color for the Chevrolet and GMC truck lines for the 1977 model year. Simply known as "Yellow", it goes by the DuPont number of 44782...

This chip is actually the best match for the yellow on the Tyco GP-20 model. Alternative examples are easier to find being that it was used on both Chevies and GMC's up until 1985...

This would be all my Venetian Yellow scans put together to help illustrate the slight variation in color between the chips. I know the fan deck says don't remove the cards from the binder but, of course, I just couldn't help myself... LOL

First time out with the fan deck and the Venetian Yellow card completely washed out on me. LOL The 1973 Green Machine colors fared a bit better, though...

I keep forgetting Permanent Red and Venetian Yellow is a Boston & Maine combo.

I spent about an hour messing with this one of #900 this morning. Most of the time, it's falling right in between the two creams, sort of like the WE5544 card from the fan deck... LOL

This gentleman here says the Pennsy's Synthetic Buff lettering color is a mixture of white and yellow with a touch of red...

That would fit in more with 93-5925 since the color does appear to be fairly clean like a true light yellow.

Here's the Acme mixing formula for Chevrolet Cream Medium which is tinted with black. I'll post the whole 1947 Chevy sheet since it does have a few other pertinent colors on it...

Today I'm just happy I didn't waste a bunch of bandwidth posting about Kraft Yellow since it does appear to be the Jersey Central's yellow. This one here is quick average eyeballer but I am noticing how the 530 chip is more susceptible to turning reddish compared to 5925...

Perhaps you can spot one of the mystery vehicles in this old pic. Here's a hint, it's painted in GMC Permanent Red... LOL

So far, I've traced Chevrolet Cream Medium back to 1928 where it was used primarily as an accent color on various Chevy models at the time. No Ditzler Intermix formula is listed, however. Cream in general was a big color back then so there are actually quite a few variations of it besides the more yellow ones.

Like Venetian Yellow, every chip sample I have of Cream Medium is different so I'll have to put all the scans of those together when I get a chance. I can't say for sure if this color was changed over the years but it may have on the Reading.

I thought I'd do the shop scene picture again along with the other one that went along with it. I didn't really look at #92 nestled in there before but the lettering that one looks more like 93-530 as opposed to the yellow on #636 and the boxcars.

Yeah, either the Cream Medium shifted a bit less black over time or the Reading went to a slightly brighter creamy yellow like 93-5925 into the sixties. There may not be any definitive answer available right now but hey, it's got to be one of the two or even both. LOL At this point, I could use the WE5544 card from the fan deck to represent either color and not be too wrong.
