I just got confirmation that the Chehalis railroad just signed an agreement with the Goose Lake railroad from Oregon. Their employees will run the trains and I assume use their insurance.
That means Polar Express trains are likely going to be run after all.
Good news overall and for the local public.

The other night, the membership got an email from the board which speaks of a "multi year" operating agreement.
While nobody seems to know what role the membership will be allowed to play in running trains other than doing things outside the trains themselves, we have publicly announced the Polar Express trains are on for this winter.

Did not take long for the new management to sell off some stuff...

https://ozarkmountainrailcar.com/railEq ... temId=3722

??? I know they also have an 85ft turntable bridge but that installation cost will be
estimated triple or quadruple the 60ft...???

So any idea why they sell?

That turntable is incomplete and has been setting there for over 20 years and has been knocking around for about 50 years.

True. And they also have the Navy turntable from Bremerton on the property which is in very good shape.

I can't make the photo small enough on my cell to post here, but I drove by there yesterday and saw a passenger car remains, post-scrapping (I could only make out an end sill in bare metal). I looked at the other cars and cannot determine which one got scrapped as I don't see anything missing...

I hope it isn't the ex-Northern Pacific baggage car, still in NCL paint, that was once owned by American Orient Express but recently by an unknown private owner. It could have been moved to the NP museum in Toppenish relatively easily. Photo by our Ranier Rails.

That's still there. I tried cropping the cell shot I took for that car and the end of the scrapped one but even that was too big for the forum...

The baggage car is owned by the PRLM out in Shelton and will be moving there in the coming months.

The previous volunteer crew people are still out for running, though. The third party company is still running trains for the foreseeable future.
While I'm happy the line is running again, I'm bummed that I can't run as a crew member until the line gets its own insurance someday.
