I think this locomotive is one of the older 70 ton GE's that has stood gutted and stripped for years. The locomotive was heading for scrap for years, but has only now gotten the ax. Of all the equipment B&ML has to lose, this is fairly insignificant. I would expect to worry when you here of the older ex-Maine Central coaches and cabooses going to torch. Some are in ragged shape, and probably not worth more than scrap even thought they tangibly touch another era of New England railroading.
