The 2-6-2 the article is quoting is Reader #108. I have a PDF of the original builder's spec, and sent them a copy (after they requested i forward a copy of the file to them), because at the time all of the 108's paperwork and whatnot was still in Texas. Not sure if all that is still with the 108... Anyhow, I hope to see the 108 eventually!

My old chapter back in Florida made me the national director this year so I could represent the chapter at the annual board meeting at the Tacoma convention in June. The best thing I did that entire day was voting for that chapter’s charter to be approved. If I recall, it was unanimous and the other directors who knew them had a lot of good things to say about this group.

First off, on behalf of all our members I would like to thank everyone who voted and worked to bring this chapter into existence. It really means alot to us as we have worked long and hard to bring the the old Memphis & Charleston R.R. back into the public light. The road was finished in 1857 and was the ONLY direct east-west route before and for many years after the civil war. Once again from all our members THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!!!!!!

Took a trip down memory lane today and looked through my PDF builders report on the 108. While looking, I found two other documents related to the 108, one of which appear to be correspondence between Baldwin and San Augustine Lumber Company (the 108's original owner), and it appears the documents date from 1922-1923 (when someone got the time to scan the docs, I have no idea) , along with a "Bil of Lading", (which looks more like a waybill). It appears to be a scan of the original, as in the case with the previous document. However, this one dates from 1956, when the Reader Railroad purchased (and moved) the 108 to it's property, however, the language used in the bill is somewhat confusing, so I can't tell if it was moving to or from the Reader Railroad. Anyone know the email for the M&C NRHS?

Good luck with all that. I was in Sulphur Springs last week and the cyclone fence has been knocked down and it looked like stuff was starting to walk off. Did they buy the engine or did Turner give it/loan it to them?

Well, figure that I'll try and post the documents here. Not sure if I uploaded them right, but it was worth a shot.
