This maybe old news to some but campustech offers non-profit pricing on software. We just saved $400 on Adobe InDesign. Their website is www.campustech.com/npc.htm. You need to have an IRS 501 c 3 letter and a tax excempt letter from your state.

Techsoup exists to help many of the software companies to distribute software for absolutely minimum expense to nonprofits. The costs are basically to cover expenses resulting in programs like Microsoft Office PRofessional for an administration fee of $20. Techsoup offers programs from other companies as well at minimal rates. One has to submit the IRS 501 c 3 letter to join.

I heartily endorse TechSoup. All my nonprofit clients in the technology side use it to one extent or another.

There's a maximum limit of license counts by organization by year, so actually, the smaller you are the more it helps you.

What you 'get' is a certificate and a login for Microsoft products for a legal license key, which this day and age, you need to even properly update the program for regular security fixes. TechSoup sells the actual media separately, just a reminder, but its a minimal fee and you only need the media CD's once.

But yeah, bottom line is that you want to use these resources before you consider paying even the deep-discount add-on OEM price for packages like Office Professional 2003. Techsoup lists it for $20, and no, I'm not making that up.
