Hi Everyone,

First I want to wish you all a Happy and prosperous New Year!!! I have enjoyed the posts and articles of RYPN and everyone. I'm old enought to remember L&RP, but young enough to have missed out on steam and other long gone parts of railroading.

As it is that time to make new resolutions and plans for a new year, some things I'd like to see happen in the movement have come to mind.

I would really like to see us as a group put aside our petty differences and work toward the common good of the ry preservation movement. We each have our own goals and things we'd like to see, but something that the movement needs is funding and we need to combat the effects of the rails-to-trails movement. I'm sure that I don't know all that goes on in the movement and I imagine that work has been and continues to be done toward this, but we as a group need to take more active steps in securing our future and the future of the equipment and other artifacts that we are custodians of.

Another thing that needs to be addressed is Amtrak. Amtrak needs our support if we want to continue to see passenger service on the rails.

There are other things that could be said, but the flame has been lit, now all we need is someone to take up the torch and run with it.
