U&D at Phoenicia

I thought those clearing brush from the old Ulster & Delaware line might appreciate this doubleheader photo taken in 1947 at Phoenicia, NY:

Isn't that taken very close to the spot just west of Phonecia where the track are currentlywashed out, or am I going in the wrong direction?

The culvert under the 2nd engine is at MP 28.66, and the track is still there and intact. However, the area where most of the cars are located is over one of the larger washouts, about from MP 28.45 to MP 28.65.

We do plan to clear the brush off the ROW in this area eventually so the washouts can be more easily accessed, making repair estimates easier.

Right now we are clearing a 2.2 mile stretch from MP 28.9 to 31.1 for access by track cars.
