Any idea where one could get a copy of the Davenport records and builders photos?

Thanks,

I'd be interested as well. I've looked for info at train shows off and on for years, trying to find any erecting drawings or plans for St. John Plantation (later Cedar Point) Mogul "Albert". I've had no luck. All I have are a series of slides and measurements I was able to take in the late '70's when I worked there (would proabably take me weeks of looking to find them now, in case anybody might want the info). At one point I had thought about doing a live steam model of it. Yes, I do have some photos of her taken in plantation service, and know she was re-boilered by Arthur LaSalle in 1964 before being sold to Cedar Point.

Greetings:
A builder's list of construction numbers, wheel arrangements and original owners is available from The Railroad and Locomotive Historical Society (R&LHS) for a nominal fee. I would note that the R&LHS offers lists from virtually all US and Canadian steam locomotive builders.

You need to locate George Thagard, he lives in California somwehre.

Last I heard he had a 2-car garage full of Davenoport materials. Maybe he donated it, maybe he can sell you something, but I seem to rememeber he was deep into the cataloging of that stuff and could propbably use some help if you live near him.

Thats been about 7 years ago though, and I may have it all wrong, so find him and ask about it.

I am also very interested in the Davenport and Canadian Loco archives.
I am researching an H.K. Porter. It seems that eventually Fairbanks Morse bought the Canadian manufacturing facility in Kingston, then closed it in '69. I wonder where all the docs went.
The Kalmbach Library was nice enough to let me go thru their collection. They have lots of prints, especially early stuff. Some Heisler stuff, too
(mainly prints for lots of the gearing)
The later info is much thinner and I suspect that it went to Davenport and then Canadian/Fairbanks.
Has anyone ever contacted the Canadian archives?
Fairbanks?
