Just a nice old John Maxwell shot of a D&RGW articulated at the Burnham roundhouse in Denver, 5/30/50. The engine was sold for scrap about 1956, the roundhouse razed about 1964, but I think the table is still there and used by UP, the last turntable in Denver. Rock Island power tied up here also, before dieselization and the construction of the new North Yard facilities.

I spy with my little eye something that begins with T:

Also a smidgeon of a piece of roundhouse.

That aerial photograph is actually of the turntable at the BNSF locomotive servicing facility in Denver north of Union Station.

Nothing of the old Burnham roundhouse still exists.

The aerial view looks like the old 23rd Street facility of the CB&Q, with the diesel shop (from the early Zephyr era) beside it. I'm surprised the turntable is still there. It is hard to see if it is still track connected. So is the Burnham turntable gone now?

Yes, that aerial view is of the old CB&Q facility at 23rd Street. The turntable remains connected to the track, at least the last time I was over there.

The Burnham turntable also still exists. Go to Google maps and type in the search, 10th and Osage, Denver. It will give you a nice aerial of the Burnham facilities. The turntable is visible to the south of the main shop buildings.
