The following death notice appeared in the Washington Post for Stepehen Patrick. He was only recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. Stephen was active on the board of directors for ARM, and was the staff director for the City of Bowie Museums in Maryland. He will be missed.

STEPHEN E. PATRICK (Age 44)
Suddenly on Friday, August 24, 2007 of Arlington, VA. He is survived by his partner, Stephen J. Kogut; his parents, Mary Kathryn Patrick of Reisterstown, MD and William Edward Patrick of Jarrettsville, MD; his sister, Mary Beth Yachimowicz and her husband, Louis of Reisterstown, MD and his nieces, Eliza and Julianna. A memorial service will be held on August 30, 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 228 S. Pitt St., Alexandria, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are graciously accepted in Stephen's memory to the Huntington Heritage Society, Inc., PO Box 183, Bowie, MD 20719.

I viewed Stephen as one of the brightest lights in a new generation of railway museum leaders. He was also a warm, witty, wonderful human being.

His friends and colleagues here at American Association of Museums will miss him very much.

I was saddened to read that Stephen Patrick had passed away. He was an all-around nice guy who brought many a laugh, chortle or smile to our faces. My condolences to his partner and family.

Stephen's death is a loss to all of us.

He was a great member of the Board of Association of Railway Museums and was serving as its Vice-President. Stephen was a participant in a number of the changes that ARM has made in the last few years.

Sad to hear of the passing of yet another leading figure in our cause. 2007 has not been a kind year, first losing Walter Grey and now Stephen.

I attended Stephen's memorial today. It was packed with friends from the many communities of which he was an valued member, ranging from museums, to railway preservation people, to antique car enthusiasts, and much more.
