Interesting that this book should get mentioned here..... My wife, who reads the "Beaver County Times" daily brought this link to my attention just this morning. Wayne Cole is one of her old school teachers and a friend of her family's.

I had the pleasure of talking at length with Mr. Cole a couple of years ago as he was leading a tour of the historic Greersburg Academy in Darlington PA (home of the McGuffy Reader!). He is a meticulous historian, a bona fide old time freight train rider, and an excellent storyteller. Altogether an interesting character. I have one of his books, a history of the Youngstown & Southern. Can definitely recommend his work to anyone with an interest in Ohio Valley railroading.
