While I can't speak for anyone directly, I think this locomotive would be a perfect candidate for restoration and operation at the Wanamaker Kempton & Southern. Ever since their original locomotive (a tiny 0-4-0 tank engine) was taken out-of-service several years ago, they have been on the lookout for a locomotive of similar proportions to their Porter 0-6-0 saddletank (#65) to complement it in passenger service. They are a nice, short run of only 3 miles, with grades limited to less than one percent.

I can't speak directly for the WK&S, but I have already been involved (at two arms' lengths) with proposals to bring newer/replacement power to the WK&S. Just rest assured that they are working towards the long-term goal of "fresh" motive power. I would agree that this would be a handsome potential acquisition, if only it were cheaper and closer.

Good to know good work has been done on this little engine.

I sure hope she finds a good home.

This is what I meant on an earlier post on who did the machine work mentioned in the ad for this loco. IF any of you have priced wheel work, complete with crankpin and boxes, you know that is a bundle of money right there.

If I were thinking about a loco {instead of a sports car} I would now take a close look at the boiler to see what projected work lies ahead. With the engine already down to the frame, everything is accessable for inspection. Again if one has the money and can find a place to run, this could be a good candidate.

The work already done is almost a given to be done right the first time, this is so important in my eyes. Wish I had the money to play with. Cheers, John.

Out of curiousity, checked eBay, and see no one bid on the 0-4-0.
